On May 30, 2024, the Tennessee Smokies, a Class AA affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, played a home game against the Chattanooga Lookouts at the Tennessee Smokies Stadium in Sevierville, TN. Smokies won 10:5 in the bottom of the ninth inning. Throughout the game, the team's Mascot, Homer Hound, joined other staff members in interacting with the crowd. Playing games, giving away prizes, and taking pictures.

Bethany Robertson, a family friend, and recent birthday girl watched her first minor league baseball game in person. A fan of many sports, she had many thoughts about the game.

"I expected the Smokies to win just because of being a fan and expecting the home team to win. I think the game went great and very exciting, and the stadium employees did a great job helping fans around the stadium and involving them with games during downtimes and in between games," Robertson said.

The team consisted of, Moises Ballesteros number fifteen, Haydn McGeary number thirty-five, Josh Rivera number two, Matt Shaw number five, Luis Verdugo number nine, Kevin Alcántara number twenty-four, Christian Franklin number eleven, Ezequiel Pagan number twenty-one, and Yohendrick Pinango number thirty.

"My favorite player was Kevin Alcantara because he was hit with a ball but proceeded to bounce back and continue to play a successful game," Robertson said.

In the ninth inning, the Smokies won, ten to five, against the Lookouts.

"The most memorable event was when the Smokies were down by one in the seventh and then came back to double to score by the end of the game," Robertson said. "The most exciting play was when the Smokies scored two runs in one play to push them to the lead."

The Smokies and Lookouts meet again on May 31, 2024, and they will continue to play against one another for the rest of the season.
